Location Overview
|
| The Loire Valley is the "Garden of France". The valley is the bed to the country's longest river, the Loire, and its many tributaries: the Cher, the Indre, the Vienne, and Loir. It was the battleground of Joan of Arc in the Middle Ages and became the playground to the aristocracy from the 14th to the 18th century. Many of their luxurious private chateaux are now publicly owned historical monuments. These man-made wonders coupled with a countryside of natural beauty and recreational activities make it a favorite destination for visitors. |
